My Name is Sarah Wardle and I am one of the Local Specialist Leaders for the Bristol Standard.

I have been part of the Bristol Standard family for many years alongside being a Teacher in Early Years and keystage 1. I am also a Lead Teacher based in South Bristol working with nursery settings and schools to improve outcomes for children and families and reduce inequalities. I have a passion for outdoor learning sparked by my involvement in Forest School and becoming a leader in this. Being part of the working group to write the Outdoor Reflective Play and Learning Framework has further inspired me to promote the Outdoors. The Trauma Informed Schools and Community diploma I acquired has strengthened my understanding of early brain development and the importance of relationships and wellbeing which supports all aspects of my work.

Being a Bristol Standard mentor and validator links beautifully with my role as a lead teacher.  Everyone has a different starting point and travels on their own reflective journey to improve on their personal best. I see The Bristol Standard as an opportunity to celebrate the many exciting initiatives that are happening each day with the benefits of the child at the heart of all we do.
