My name is Jane Francis and I am a Local Specialist Leader for The Bristol Standard. It is a great team to be part of and we have all witnessed how the Bristol Standard has a positive impact on settings as a quality improvement framework; celebrating strengths, reflective practice and keeps children at the heart of early years pedagogy.
I am an Early Years Lead Teacher working across East Bristol supporting Early Years settings, Schools and Childminders. I am also an East & Central Bristol Childminder Hub Lead; working with a team of Early Years Professionals to provide Childminders with opportunities to attend local Childminder Groups, 1:1 support, CPD and lead the Childminder Nature Discovery Project. I am currently studying towards a Certificate in Outdoor Practice developed by Jan White and Janet Packer. In addition, I am a Five to Thrive Lead and part of the DFE Covid Recovery Program.
I have a passion for lots of things but mainly the Bristol Standard, Outdoor/seasonal learning, growing, exploring and harvesting food; giving children opportunities to connect with nature on both an emotional and physical level. I want to enable children to have the skills to respect, nurture and appreciate the awe and wonder of our natural world and to value all the amazing things it provides us with.
