Ashton Vale Pre-School Zoom ahead with their Bristol Standard
Ashton Vale Pre-School have been on the Bristol Standard journey since 2003. When the setting closed temporarily due to the current situation they decided they would find a way to continue with their Bristol Standard. Sara who leads on the Bristol Standard in the setting told us:
We found that during lockdown it was a perfect opportunity to get through our Bristol Standard as we were completing Pathway 2. This was after an inset day on 2nd March where we discussed our strengths and the dimensions we would complete on this cycle.
A meeting was set up on Zoom and everyone attended, those that didn’t have zoom were kept in the loop by phone. We split the team into 3 groups of 3 and divided up the dimensions. Each group then linked up via phone or face time to discuss their dimension targets and benefits and then fed back to Sara before the next zoom meeting a week later. Sara then pulled all the work together and emailed the Bristol Standard to everyone to check. Lynne and Hayley then proof read the document making alterations where needed and Sara and Hayley added in the evidence. Even going to the setting maintaining social distance to collect any further evidence we needed. We were supposed to submit our Bristol Standard in July but through using zoom etc. we managed to complete it earlier.
