The focus of the Spring/Summer lead teacher visit this year is on

The Privilege of Working with Two-Year-Olds: What is it like to be a Two-Year-Old in our Setting?

This will be a useful time to reflect on how you and your team support two-year-olds and their families in your setting, to discuss your strengths and also maybe some areas that you would like to develop.

We would value the two-year-old room lead being available for all or part of the visit, and particularly for the learning walk.

This visit will be available to all Early Years Settings and also to any Schools that take 2-year-olds. For those Early Years Settings that do not currently have two-year-olds, the visit will provide an opportunity for you to explore your current priorities with your lead teacher.

As always, in addition to this focused discussion, lead teachers are able to share a range of professional development opportunities including local cluster meetings, free Network CPD and Stronger Practice Hub CPD as well as signpost to further information and support available for your setting/school and your children and families. The visits also provide a great opportunity for settings to identify actions for development and to share any further support needs they may have which can feed into planning the support that we provide.

Please find attached the visit note with areas for discussion that can be used to guide both you and the lead teacher during the visit discussion.

Your lead teacher will be in touch over the next few weeks to arrange a convenient date for the visit. We hope that you will find the visit beneficial and supportive and that the discussions will have a positive impact on the learning and development of children across Bristol.
