Space Cadets run from Air Balloon Hill Primary School in St. George, Bristol. They run a Breakfast and After School Club and a Holiday Play scheme from a building on the school site which, although quite small, is packed with resources. The club is extremely popular and to meet demand, they also have access to the school hall and computer room in the mornings. The team, who work at different times and days of the week, worked hard over 15 months producing their folder and identifying development targets along with the benefits these will bring for the children at their setting. The manager, Stacey had this to say of their journey,

“Achieving The Bristol Standard has been one of the most rewarding challenges we have had to face in Space Cadets! Working on it definitely brought the team closer together and made us think about what we, as individuals, have to offer and how we can combine our best ideas and strengths to make the setting more effective.

It makes you analyse your methods and procedures, encouraging you to introduce suggestions and solutions which may not have come to mind had it not been for working on The Bristol Standard.

We found it to be a stimulating and invaluable experience and we are all elated to have the certificate on display!”
