Subject: Ofsted update for EYFS in schools

Dear Colleagues,

We are sorry to interrupt your break so soon, but we thought it important to highlight a new EYFS guidance document from Ofsted that was published yesterday, about inspecting under the new statutory EYFS framework in September. Normally we would refrain from communication during the school holidays, but we are aware school leaders and their EYFS teams may wish to plan for time to reflect on this new Ofsted document on their INSET days at the start of the new term.

Please do remember that the Early Years team and lead teachers will be alongside you with support as we implement the new EYFS in September. There will be free CPD on assessment and curriculum (which will include Ofsted expectations) in term 1, dates will be available at the start of September.  The new Bristol Assessment Guidance is also available to support any planning you might do on your INSETs and there will be free training on the OPAL assessment system on September 8th should you be interested, details and links to follow in week 1.

In the meantime, we wish you a very relaxing summer.
