Dear Early Years Leaders,
We hope all is well with you and your teams and that you enjoyed the well deserved and much needed Christmas break even if it looked different to usual. We appreciate how challenging it is currently for all those working in schools and early years settings and hope, as I am sure you all do, that the vaccine will provide some light at the end of what has often felt like a very long tunnel.
Lead teachers have had to work differently over the last few months and we know that they are fully committed to continuing to support you in any way they can. We realise that it would not be possible for Lead Teachers to visit schools this term but would still like to provide the opportunity to support you as best we can. We would like to suggest that the 2020-2021 support visit is carried out either by Zoom or by phone and you can discuss with your Lead Teacher which approach would be most suitable for you and your school.
The focus for this support will be to offer a space to reflect on and discuss the ways that you are supporting your children, families and staff through this time and importantly, any priorities that you have identified. We hope that you will use this opportunity to help get the support that you need at this difficult time.

Dates for your diary
We would also like to take this opportunity to share dates for city-wide EYFS leaders meetings for the rest of this academic year:
Tuesday 2nd March via Zoom (link to follow) – 1.15 pm to 2.45 or 4.00pm to 5.30pm
Tuesday June 15th pm – Location and time TBC
There is no need to book a place but please ensure that your full name appears on the screen when you log in to the zoom session.
Other support available
- Please be reassured that your Area EY Consultant and Lead Teacher are available to support you. Don’t hesitate to get in touch.
- Area school cluster meetings will continue to be available termly and are open to all EYFS staff. Your lead teacher will let you know the dates.
- The Bristol Early Years website is available to you and provides a wealth of resources and information. Bristol Early Years | A source of information, guidance and support for the Early Years community in Bristol
