Heatwave Guidance - 18/07/2022

Dear Colleagues,

As you will be aware, UKHSA has issued a Level 4 Heatwave alert for all regions of the UK, and we are expecting record temperatures over the new few days. Young children are particularly at risk from heat exhaustion, heat stroke and sun burn. Please follow the updated Department of Education Guidance – Looking after children and those in early years settings during heatwaves for teachers and professionals in all early years provision and ensure that all staff are alert to the signs of heat stress in children. You may also find this article from Nursery World useful.
