Dear Colleague,

You may have seen recently that the Department of Education is investing £10million in a new professional development programme (PDP2) for level 3 practitioners working with the most disadvantaged 2-4year olds across England. We are pleased to be able to tell you that Bristol is one of the areas selected to take part.

You can also find further details about PDP2 via the Early Years PDP  website, brochure and an introductory video . Places on PDP2 will also be funded by the Department for Education (via the Local Authority) at £100 per day to support the release of practitioners to attend the training.

The Department for Education has been working with Local Authorities to identify schools and settings with the greatest numbers of eligible two-year-olds, 3 and 4-year olds on Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP), and EHCPs and will be contacting you directly in the coming weeks to invite you to apply. Bristol Early Years team has confirmed with the Department that schools and settings may apply for a place for up to two practitioners.

We hope that as many Bristol schools and settings as possible will be able to take up this opportunity for free high quality CPD to support our most vulnerable children. Please do get in contact with Kate Irvine (kate.irvine@bristol.gov.uk ) should you have any questions.

Yours sincerely,

Bristol Early Years
