Spring/ Summer Term Lead Teacher visit with a focus on Curriculum in the Early years

In response to the revised EYFS and Ofsted Education Inspection Framework we are focussing the next EYs visit on curriculum. This has been a hot topic in settings and schools with many practitioners asking for more opportunities to discuss what this means for everyday practice and provision.

In Bristol, we have been busy gathering the latest thinking about what we mean by curriculum in the early years and how settings might need to reflect on how we link what is statutory to children’s unique learning needs. 

To support this reflection and discussion we have produced a reflective curriculum toolkit for Early Years Settings. It has been created to guide thinking for EYs practitioners to design and review the curriculum in place for the children you work with. It offers prompts for team discussion and encourages a reflective, confident approach to planning in a simple framework. It links to the Ofsted EIF for EYs settings.
