The Bristol & Beyond Early Years Stronger Practice Hub is funded by the DFE and is bringing evidence-based CPD, focused on those working with Birth-3 year olds, to our south west region. Online events are open to all early years practitioners and childminders and local events will showcase local practice and be tailored for local areas, while providing opportunities to connect and reflect. This Network Update highlights what is coming up and we’ve also included some interesting articles and resources at the bottom!
Read more about the SPH regional events and watch our Birth-3 webinars by exploring the following Network pages: Working with Babies network and Spotlight on Twos network
There are more local network events for those working with babies, or those working with twos, that our Network leads have arranged for Bristol. Please get them in your diaries and book your spot!

“Representation matters because it shapes the stories babies absorb about themselves and others. It’s about making sure that diversity isn’t just a nice idea but something that’s part of everyday life in the setting.” This is from a lovely EDI Spotlight blog from our Network Lead, Simone Barnes: Race and Representation in the Baby Room
Staying with the diversity theme, we would like to share where you can find recommended inclusive baby and children books:

And a new vodcast: Safer sleep practices for early years educators
Are you expanding your provision? This Nursery World article will be very useful as it covers ‘What to Consider When Setting Up a Room for Two Year Olds’.
You might want to browse the Baby Room Project blog, which is generally good for reflecting on baby room practice.
These are just a few highlights, there will be more rcommendations in the SPH newsletter. And there are many more events, webinars and blogs on our SPH webpages. Bristol & Beyond Stronger Practice Hub – Bristol Early Years Teaching Hub
